but let me ask, how to install the AHCI driver without integrating it to the insttallation CD/DVD, i mean to install the driver directly to win XP.
cause i feel so tired if i have to reinstall my laptop again, its just wasting my time...
just for note: my laptop is ACER ASPIRE 4740G with intel core i5 processor and NVIDIA GeForce 310M.
i hope this can be usefull.

After hours of research, I came across this posting. Very well written and east to follow - thank you. Unfortunately, I tried this remedy, but to no avail. I still get the same error message: STOP 0x0000007B after all drivers load and the message bar says it is starting windows setup.
Info:
HP dv7t-4000 laptop pre-loaded with Win 7 (performed clean install first...no bloatware)
-Dual 320 GB HDD Western Digital Black
-Install CD: Windows XP SP2 w/ above nLite remedy
-No BIOS options for SATA drive - HP locked it out
Any suggestions?
